The entertaining tri-series host by United Arab Emirates coming to an end with the last one-day international match between the home team UAE vs Scotland which schedule to play on Tuesday. Scotland registered their first win on the tour in the last game while UAE looking forward to avoid the win-less series at home.

UAE :

After faced a defeats in both matches against Ireland, the hosts United Arab Emirates re-started the series with a hope of win against Scotland. But, Scotland frustrated UAE with 31 runs victory. Now, it will be UAE’s last opportunity to win a game in this home series when they meet Scottish team once again on Tuesday. Ashfaq Ahmed who made an international debut with the first match of the series, batted well in his first two ODI innings. After scored 35 and 25 runs respectively against Ireland, Ashfaq managed to score only 2 runs against Scotland in the last game. He will continue to open the innings and we can expect some good scores from him. Captain Rohan Mustafa yet to fire with the bat in the series but he did some good job with a ball. UAE needs their captain to step-up and once he get going, he will assure a challenging target for the opponents. The wicket-keeper Ghulam Shabber bats at no. 3 for UAE and after scores of 21 and 18 runs respectively against Ireland, Shabber smashed his career best scores of 90 runs against Scotland on Sunday. He could possibly play another good innings against the same opposition in this game. The veteran batsman Shaiman Anwar had played his first match of the series on Sunday and for a surprise he grabbed three-wickets haul in that game. He has taken 3 for 61 in full quota of 10 overs. With a bat, he came to bat at 6 and managed to score only 8 runs. His regular position was at no. 4, hopefully, will bat at 4 in this game on Tuesday.

Rameez Shehzad and Muhammad Usman are the pillars of UAE batting in the middle-order. Shahzad scored a back-to-back half-centuries against Ireland (75 and 50 runs) while Muhammad Usman scored a handy 44 runs against Ireland in the second match. Both of them dismissed for less than 20 runs each in the last game, but big innings not far away for them. Adnan Mufti used to play a handy cameo in the lower middle-order for UAE. The newcomer Mohammad Boota is the other handy batsman who scores useful runs in lower middle-order. Possibilities are there for either one among Boota and Mufti to make a way for a bowler Imran Haider. UAE needs an extra specialist bowler and that may help Haider to get a game. Ahmed Raza bowled so well in the last game and claimed 1 for 22 in 10 overs. The left-arm spinner is very useful in the middle-overs and no wonder if he claimes 3 or more wickets in this match. The experienced pacer Mohammad Naveed has a tally of 5 wickets in 3 matches in the series and he will add few more wickets to his name with this game. Zahoor Khan, the wicket-taking bowler bowled an expensive spell of 1 for 73 in the last game. He may come back stronger with 2 or more wickets in this game on Tuesday.

SCOTLAND :

Scottish team started their tour with back-to-back losses against Ireland last week. Scotland had played without their captain Kyle Coetzer in those two matches against Ireland. Coetzer was back in the side against UAE on Sunday and Scotland registered their first win of the series too. It was great start of international career for the opening batsman Michael Jones who scored back-to-back half-centuries in his first two one-day internationals. After scoring 87 and 74 runs respectively against Ireland, Jones managed to score 15 runs in the last game. He is a key player and could possibly play another good innings on his debut series. Captain Kyle Coetzer is the most experienced batsman in the squad and he has 1648 ODI runs in 42 matches with 4 centuries and 9 half-centuries. He is a dangerous player in the limited overs format and could score a big hundred in this game. The wicket-keeper batsman Mathew Cross bats at no. 3 in the series and he is fresh with a match-winning ton in the last game. His unbeaten knock of 107 off 110 balls set up the game for Scotland on Sunday. With his current form, we can expect another good innings in the last match of the series on Tuesday. Vice-captain Richie Berrington’s horrible tour with the bat continues as he managed to score only 23 runs in 3 matches. He is a quite valuable player, he would eyes on big score to finish the series on high note.

After played two good innings against Ireland Calum MacLeod departed for only 5 runs in the last match on Sunday. He had a good form in recent times, hopefully will be back stronger with a quick half-century or more on Tuesday’s match. Due to the arrival of Coetzer, middle-order batsman George Munsey gone back to his regular position of no. 6 in the last game. Finally, Munsey had a good game and scored an useful 45 runs off 44 balls against UAE. He will keep his place safe in the XI and probably will bat another good knock. Craig Wallace did a wicket-keeper’s job in all those 3 matches. He started the series with a handy 34 runs in the middle-order. But after that innings, he departed for 4 runs and 0 respectively. That means, Cross may take over wicket-keeper duties from him and Wallace possibly make a way for an all-rounder Michael Leask. All-rounder Leask played in the second match against Ireland and he smashed 59 runs off just 35 balls in that game. That knock will help him to be back in the side on Tuesday. After bowled two wicket-less spells, Mark Watt came with a good spell of 2 for 33 in 9 overs on Sunday. The 21-years old left-arm spinner has a crucial role to play in this last match on Tuesday. Three men pace attack of Safyaan Sharif, Alastair Evans and Stu Whittingham worked out well for Scotland in the last game. All three of them had shared two wickets each. Safyaan Sharif is the best strike bowler of Scotland, but struggled a bit in this series. He has a chance to be back in form by claiming 3 or more wickets in this game.
